The TRELLIS collection consists of ceramic artworks that mimic climbing plants growing on different surfaces, from an ivy creeping up the wall of a building to fruit-bearing grapevines in vineyards.

These pieces are designed to be placed around doorways or furniture to enhance the impression of realism.

New pieces are regularly added to the collection.

GRAPEVINE

Material: Dark stoneware clay; glaze; metal wire

For those with a sophisticated taste and love for good wine.

The GRAPEVINE consists of separate ~40 cm (~16 inch) segments linked together with metal rings. This grants the piece some flexibility, allowing it to be set over the edges of bookshelves or bent around doorways, or simply hung on a wall in a straight line.

The vine is formed from dark brown stoneware clay with intricate details to resemble a real plant, and left unglazed to retain its coarse, organic texture. The process of making the grapes is delicate and time consuming: each grape is produced individually with a bit of metal wire inside, glazed with a brush and finally tied together to create a semi-realistic impression of a grape cluster.

Available with both red and green grapes.

Made to order, in any requested length.

The artist’s thoughts

“To me, decorative art is at its best when it looks like it was
made for the place that it’s located in, almost like it has
grown together with the space.

With the TRELLIS Collection my intention is to make pieces that make you feel like you’re stepping into a garden, or like they’ve sprouted from the floor and slowly worked their way up your bookshelf!”
